The Way We Work

1. We encourage and resource individual Christians who link up with us as Outlook members. These men and women, often in later life themselves, are committed to sharing their Christian faith with older people as God gives them opportunity to do so. As an organisation we encourage them in their work by prayer and by:

• Personal contact.

• Regular mailings, including news of different events, testimonies from members and information from Headquarters.

• Outlook resource materials and aids, including drama, Good Heavens (a scripted evangelistic drama presentation), updated ‘ideas’ sheets, and an update on other resources available.

• The formation and promotion of regional groups to encourage, empower and build each other up.

• sharing resources and ideas collected and re-cycled from the wide variety of members around the country.

2. We encourage churches to put evangelism among older people higher on their agenda and to care for the spiritual growth of their own older members by:

• Encouraging churches to hold ‘raising awareness’ day-conferences, study days on reaching older people for Christ, and appropriate training courses for potential evangelists.

• Providing leaders or material for the above as needed.

• Providing Outlook members in the locality (if available) to those needing speakers for an over-60s fellowship or weekly meeting.

3. We keep the spot-light on evangelism at head-quarters.

• At Outlook we have, as leaders,  always had a special interest in the bigger missions taking place in the UK.  We encourage them to welcome individuals and teams specializing in reaching seniors, to work alongside other  teams specially trained to reach young people. Outlook members, and groups, have participated in several large  missions. This is a work we look forward to expanding.
